A colleague at work bought a very nice Elise from another colleague just before the start of the decent weather.

Unfortunately a deer jumped into his path.  Deer is sadly RIP.  The Elise may not be far behind...

He has had the car into our local prestige car repair place.  Apparently needs a front clam, crash box and a light.  Quote of £11k to fix.......wow!

So, given the quality and price of aftermarket clams from Lotushardtops plus ability to buy new crashboxes for a decent price, he is considering alternatives to getting repaired locally.

I/he would appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks.

ps - I know not VX, but close enough.

Won't cost anything like that if you're smart.

Couple of years ago I had a small front end crash in mine, resulted in a foot long crack. New clam from jonnyboy about £1k, paint and fitting £2.5k. So it adds up fast, 11k silly though

Thanks all.  Info passed onto my colleague.  He won't be using the first repairer.
