My speedometer has developed a mind of it's own over the past week, it started by cutting out over potholes etc, now progressed to winding up and down to 40mph when stationary.

First thing I'll try is some contact cleaner on the ABS sensors, anything else to check?

You can recalibrate it by holding the trip button as you turn the key on.

My stack went mental on a really hot day at Zandvoort. Made it hard to know how fast I was driving on the way home as RPM and speed were all over the place. It went back to normal on its own.

It takes its signal from the rear left hub.

If RPM was dodgy with Speedo I wouldn't suspect the hub. Two different inputs there. Sounds like a stack of connection problem

It was me mentioned RPM, think James is speed only so probably on that one wheel.

Pin 22+23 on the ABS controller connector plug should have 1400 ohms resistance stationary.

Mine was the same, check the wiring and connection to the rear left hub and repair if broken. Failing that you can replace the rear hub.

I had Speedo needle all over the shop. No abs warning light. After weeks of on and off stuffing around with wiring and diagnostics I figured it was the abs ecu. I confirmed it wasn't the hub by temporarily wiring in the rhs hub to the ecu to check. Replacing the ecu finally fixed it.

Same here. From my research if there's no abs light it's not the sensor and likely the abs ecu

Yeah that sounds more like a wiring issue as you have abs warning light
