Hi All,

On Smiley's advice I'm currently using a bluetooth OBD2 reader and torque app on an android phone to monitor SC intake temps on track... I can also see coolant on this as well.

I can also see the option to monitor fuel pressure on the free torque app not sure on AFR etc..

Probably a very stupid question but is anyone using torque app to monitor AFR or fuel pressure and could it be useful to check the fuel system afr etc?

Firthy

I can see an option to monitor O2 Sensor 1 Equivalence Ratio - Is that AFR?

Cheers Steve,

Just downloaded the Torque Pro App which has AFR measured and AFR Commanded.

It also stores info like the highest intake temp which could be useful :)

Does anyone know if these functions work?

Can anyone recommend what to keep an eye on fuel pressure vs fuel pressure rail etc?

Firthy

When torque Is started, and you browse for a new value, and it lights up light green it should be available to view.

These are the ones that worked on my NA:

Those screenshots are now 4 years old.

Not sure if a newer torque releases more info from our vx ecu today?

I cant recall being able to get afr's last year on Torque Pro when i had my VX (which was one bit of data i really wanted), i am pretty sure its nothing to do with torque but the data the ecu puts out to the obd.

I don’t see how it can show the AFR as the ECU isn’t connected to a wide band sensor?
All it can probably show is the target AFR.
More modern cars which run wideband as std can probably show AFR.

Hi Oakmere,

Thanks for your help, I knew someone would be a long to put me straight.

As you say I can get communicated AFR, but obviously not measured AFR 😂

Can I ask another stupid question I guess obd uses the lambda to work out the air fuel ratio.

Could you therefore display the lambda and get a reading?

I can see the 02 sensor value with engine off is 447.0 can either of these be used in a similar way?

The other value I can get is timing advance could I monitor anything with that?

Sorry for the stupid questions!!

So after some research I can log the two O2 sensors, this is measured by voltage so high voltage equals rich.

This way I can monitor that the car isn't running lean at WOT?

I can also log short term fuel trim which should remain -0.9 - +0.9 is that correct?

I can also monitor the timing advance - would this be useful at all?

Does that make sense?

Any advice always appreciated 👍

Does the torque app show boost pressure on the vxt?

yes if you install the pro version from .apk file

it used to be on the basic free one, until they removed it and started charging for the app

If there is one app that is worth paying for, Torque is certainly it.

Peanuts for what you get.
