So my car stinks of fuel when driving, no visible leaks as far as I can see without clam removal. Previous owner (2 owners ago) said the charcoal filter had been removed (I don't know if by this owner or one before his ownership).

Either way I'd like to reduce the smell and also try and ensure some safety after digging around on here and seeing about fires and fire risks from those removing theirs!

So I guess question is- does anyone have a charcoal filter they are getting rid of or has anyone made a like for like system using commercial off the shelf parts?

Thanks

Karl

Put the charcoal canister back. It's there to catch fuel vapour which can be a serious fire risk!

Did anyone actually read and comprehend what I wrote above?

I've stated I want to reinstate it, that I know it's a fire hazard not being there and I asked does anyone have one they are parting with or if anyone has a solution from Cots parts.

Is there still a rollover valve? How is the current system plumbed in? Where do the pipes finish?

There shouldn’t be any vapour as the vapour should return to the throttle body

Zoobeef I'll have to visually check again after googling what one looks like! Maybe a clam off or wheel arch liner out job?

You can shorten the pipes and remove one of the plastic box’s to give a much tidier installation without removing the carbon filter when you come to reinstall.

Hi,

I removed everything but the roll-over valve and fitted a pressure 2-way valve: https://www.merlinmo...-push-on-m-tpv8

I did it because I needed the space, not much reason otherwise. I haven't had any smells at all. Usually there is some pressure in the tank when refueling in the summer heat so it obviously works. If your garage isn't a sauna I don't think it will vent at all.
