So on a 2.5” Tullett exhaust. A straight bar fits between the toe link bolts

Ive had my toe links & brace setup from the initial production many years ago. After a few issues with the first batches of joints, it's been an excellent fit & forget setup ever since. I wouldn't remove mine now! Definitely worth it if you track. Mine is fitted with a 3" exhaust.

This may show a woeful lack of understanding but... I have a Toe hook that braces the two subframe legs using the M8? OE holes for the diffuser...

1) Can this help?

2) Can this cause issues?

It can help, though as it is mounted on an open panel section of the subframe it will be limited. It is hard fixed but the panel will flex before it exerts any significant loads on the subframe so in itself it cannot do much damage in normal use apart from bend the panel.

The issue is the obvious and that being mounted under the tray if you were to go off and ground the car i.e. over a verge the bar is likely to catch and act to pull the side/both sides of the subframe backwards and together until the M8's snap and you really want these forces to be taken via the wheels to the wishbones where the forces are spread over 8 different pickups on the subframe and are designed to take it.

:)

3 inch tullet with 200 cell cat appears okay too (supercharged), however dimensions may be slightly off as it's mated to a 2bular silencer

Do you mean brace bar failure or toe links or both
Which ones were these

what failed out of interest? i had the early ones too (2008) and apart from 2 outers being somewhat stiff there was nothing wrong with them.

He didn't say anything failed?

The "issue" was with premature wear due to a batch of Tuthill motorsport bearings.

Most probably this happened when like the most of the rust belt they swapped production from the US to China.

First time I contacted the factory they were shocked and asked for samples to be returned.

The next time I phoned they factory to check on progress they had closed and no one was interested.

It was this event which started the project into custom designed bearings and in retrospect it was a great decision despite the outlay.

HI

Just to let everyone know that the offer will be closing on the 30th August so we can start manufacturing, this is especially true for the non Spitfire toe link cars as other components need to be made.

If you are already in contact there is no need to reply.

Thanks

:)

Gaz

Now that this is over, what spacing have most people gone for and with what setups? I have a turbo back box on a decat standard pipe and am thinking the shorter measurement is going to fit. I've tried things out with a 50mm deep piece of wood between the existing toe links and it will just fit. I'm looking to fit the toe link bracket that places the brace bar on the back of the toe links as the one that runs between is too close to the exhaust. Anyone fitted one yet?

Morning Tom

All kits use the main toe link double shear bracket, the inner brace uses a secondary bracket but the preferred solution is the rear brace as its position is way more effective at doing in carrying out its function.

Quite a few should have been fitted I would think Tom but the individuality of the setups is unlikely to help much apart from standard NA can take a shallow collet, about 80% used shallow by the way.

Did you mean the wood is between the brackets or sitting on the back of the OE joints?

:)

Sitting on the back of the OE joints. I'll email you now.
