My gear cables are getting more and more difficult to move. Probably melted partly inside.
I would like to know from people already swapping them if I can get as close to how it was with the tuthills/elise-shop cables, or if I am better off getting a used oem pair from a breaker?

Only one I driven, was one with some German after market cabeling, and that was not even close to how it should be.

Those German ones were made only in the turbo length, so on my NA I had to loop them around and that messed up the gearchange...

Any of the available options in the correct NA length should be OK, but be prepared for some swearing when you install these!

I've got the Eliseshop motorsport ones... they make the shift a bit heavier but you quickly get used to it. Still quite a slow shift on mine (I think due to the heavy flywheel)

Elise sport ones were better made and more heat shielding but as said slightly stiffer but that just made it feel better quality. We also had problems though, with the cup at the back popping off and that seems to be a week point.

My originals did last 70000 miles though so no real problem going original again, just maybe add a bit more heat shielding where it goes close to the hot spots.

Mine are now on 114k miles, and I am happy with them.

By the sound of it, I may be better of with used low mile oem´s to get as close to how it was.

Last thing I need is a gear popping off on track, with my engine bay being very full, and access a pita.

I had a lever end break the cable where it attached to the alloy fitting , Yvo was very helpful.

I noticed a massive amount of play in the square nylon bearing on the shifter end.
