Started my lovs affair with VX's around 17 years ago, 19 years old, test drove, nearly bought a lightening edition and pow....made redundent.
Life took over but, now, regretabbly relationship gone i'm not financially responsible for another human so...i'm finally going to scratch the. Vx itch.
KE04GVU is up for sale, did want a super low miler (this has 64k) but seems in good nick and os stage 2 moded.
This forum does worry me, seems like some reasonably advanced repairs go on, hopefully its more on road thrills than under car oil spills

They are old cars now so do your research and ideally get some forum knowledge on the car or take an experienced owner along to look over it.
They are truly the most incredible cars. I will never sell mine.

For me it beats an S1 Elise on roof practicality and a wider track, beats an S2 on the engine, and an S3 on value.

My opinion, there are certain recipies for a bad relationship with a VX. One being...
You use it as a daily all year &
You can't or won't get your hands dirty &
You buy one that hasn't been cared for
...which is a really bad combination, and your best hope would be to find a trusted specialist to maintain it.
Not wishing to curse my experience, but in 8 years of ownership, the only part I've needed to change through failure was the crank -> cam breather 90 degree hose, and a battery, however I have done a fair bit of preventative maintenance such as toe links and engine mounts etc... the rest has been modifying, sorting the odd rattle and general maintenance.
However I have only done around 12k miles in 8 years, and 6k miles of that was in the first 6 months!
I would advise you not to buy one as a daily unless you have a really, really, really good sense of humour, but if it's just a weekend toy, and the car is a good one, you won't have anything to worry about at all.

This will be 2000 miles a year I reckon, weekend fun, maybe a track day and hopefuly reliable enough to go to bournmouth a couple of times a year to see relatives.
I'll go see it Sunday anyway, its not on here (did a reg no search) so its not s forum known car.
