Hi, I've bought an NA SC car.

I originally wanted a fair weather daily, std-ish Elise S1 after driving my friend's near std car in the summer but they were very tired and tatty in my 10-12k budget. Looked at better ones but the model I really wanted (S1 111S) were 15-18k - too much.

Then I thought about the NA VX. Much better priced and enough power for sensible county lane fun. But my eyes wandered towards the SC cars. Was put if by the increased weight if the turbos and nice ones are getting out of budget. Happened upon a car with fully rebuilt suspension, Nitrons, respray, tidy interior, proper charge cooling and a load of other stuff done too.

As I've had Elises for 20 years I know most of the issues this chassis has and bar a bit of upper UJ play in the steering column this one had all stuff sorted. Plus a few VX specific things like the 4 channel ABS. This one was slightly over budget but well worth it given the restoration work already done.

Overall I'm v happy with it. Doesn't feel overly heavy compared to my Elise in spite of the Elise being a lightened hill climb car (about 630kg) and let's me have all the fun I was missing from the Elise as it's simply too raw and fast for the road (compound charged 350bhp depending on who's rollers you use!).

I've a few questions and niggles I'll raise now I can't find answers in the forum, and stop bothering Joe (Batman)!!

The stage 2 SC is probably the best package for a vx220, NA tuning is expensive and the turbo ... best not talk about that

Thanks guys. I've done lots of NA tuning with the K series in my Elise so know the costs and effort required. SC does seem the easiest, best value way to get decent power from the car.

Thanks - No MR2s for me, just Elises and a load of different daily drivers!

Only pics I have are from the advert, but I've run out of file upload space so can't attach I'm afraid.
