Elise rear lights (older incandescent or LED doesn't make a difference) are 120mm outer diameter and the bolt holes (M5) are pretty much 100mm apart.

Only the later Elise models (S3) and Evora now use 2 sizes with the outers the 120mm round ones and the inners being a small type for reverse light and such.

Don't know what the diameter of the small ones are.

Bye, Arno.

Thanks Arno, much appreciated!

Darcini fitted the lotus ones to his car.  I think the thread is something like 'wiring LED lights' or similar.

Not sure, but think he made some molds for those and then lend them to someone. Not sure if they were ever returned, but i.i.r.c. it was to a Dutch Speedster owner...

Front bumper corners update:

I’ve done very little today as the PVC only turned up around 2pm. Anyway, I had to split the front wings to spread them a little to allow them to flow into the front Headlight sides Better than it would have. So lots of wasted time. I may have to redo the PVC wing tops as a result.

I’m not going to bother trying to warm the wing top PVC to form it near the headlight as it maybe easier to blend it in at the filling stage.

I also have adjusted the rear bumpers as I didn’t like how it was previously looking.

I’m hoping to fit (Yes, seat wing mirrors tomorrow and fingers crossed most of the Remaining PVC panels before I start on the rear.

He borrowed my rear lamp blank mould and then remade a mould for the round lights from that.  From what he told me the new mould was a bit  rough round the edges so he never lent it out.  He might have wavered on that but either way it's not likely to be available.  It's just an example of fitting the exige rear lights to a VX

Progress slow today. Or, perhaps I’m slowing down?

Wing tops do need trimming back. Both sill cutaways and side air intakes are now almost ready for the next stage.

Guys, am I going in the right direction with the rear end? It’s amazing how much time I’m wasting just. trying out different options.

If I use Exige/Elise lights, they will stick out on top. So I would have to do as Ferrari did on the 430’s rear lights.

I still want to use a grill across the back. I have also mocked up a long centre brake light (above the red bodywork strip). The grill would start below that.

Any constructive comments good or bad are welcomed!

Really? Does it not look a bit rounded? I’ll try moving the bumper sections and take photos. I may have to stop for the day and consider solutions and start again tomorrow.

Well, in roughness it works. Good to see the mesh gone. The lights behind it was not working for me.
To be honest, the Ferrari versions look dead sexy.

Not sure if your PVC can do those lines.
I remember a wheelers dealers episode on a ford pop, where ed used fiberglass and a simple cup to build containes for the rear lights.
Do fibreglass and your PCV work together?

It's a shame your not trying stuff in photoshop first, just to get an impression.

And you have my thumbs up for the front.
I was doubtfull for the end result (it's very difficult to see beyond the slats of pvc, duct tape and crack fixes), but it just looks good.

I would look into Sky / Opel GT 2006 rear lights . They would match the shape better..

Well, I had a really good day and I’ve almost finished the rear today. I can’t tell you how many times I changed it because it looked awkward.

Anyway, I’ve got a bit more time to tidy up before posting photos and video later.

But, it now has a name that the Lotus boys will hate (340R). 😂

Why are you doing this? To get cheaper spare parts for lights or make it as good look as possible. Thinking if you want to trade away some looks for airodynamic purpose.

If you ditch the rear spoiler in the middle and install a wing blade instead, and then also a big wing above this.

Looks very good, what lights will fit in there?

I like the back end the way it is now but reckon you need to work with an angular shape rather than the round lights. Is there nothing available that fits or almost fits the light gap now.
