Hi Dave,
I found the Conti 3’s a marked improvement on the RE040’s when I made the change. I thought the only company selling the old compound was now Camskill?
It’s rare for someone to stick to the OEM specs these days but I have to agree with you.
If you fit a more track biased tyre you definitely compromise the cars all year round driveability. Fine for Sunmer but not so clever in the Winter. ðŸ‘
Good luck.
Thanks for the advice,
My fronts have still got plenty of tread on them, so just wanted to keep the rears as close to OEM at the moment. My other sets of wheels and tyres are really just for the track, and as you say not the best for all year round drivability, plus like reserve the rubber on the track tyres for the track.
I've had Conti's in the past on my RR and found that on that car they "feathered" quickly on the outer shoulders, a known trait on that car with those tyres....so a bit undecided on Conti's at the moment.
cheers
Dave
