Morning all.

Have any of you had experience of recolouring leather?

I'm looking at a car (not a VX) with hearing aid beige seats. The car is lovely and if they were black would be much more desirable.

I've seen kits but I'd be happy to pay a pro to do it, but I don't want to see it messed up or coming off the seats in a few months.

Any experiences, recommendations?

If you were colouring brand new seats I suspect it would probably be OK, but if you're trying to colour well worn seats I suspect the chances of a reasonably even finish may be slim - (for what it's worth).

Hi Pete,

I did this on mine with great results, and also really easy to do... I went from green to black as I picked up new seats.

I can send you some photos, and you are more than welcome to take a look in the flesh...

When I get around to it I’ll update my build thread (which is little more than an intro at the moment) with them and my other mods!!

Thanks Mat, be good to see how it wears. I'm guessing it's easier going to a dark colour.

Just use a proper dye not an aerosol dye!
