Hi guys, trying to figure out the engine cover the Z22SE but the search functionality isn't helping me much...

If I buy something like this, after cutting the cover to size and painting it, will it fit straight on the engine, or do I need to get the fittings?  As I seem to recall on my past cars, there's always "posts" on the engine themselves for the cover to clip-on, but the engine in my VX220 don't have the "posts"?  What's a fair price for them?

Advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hi Eddles,

That’ll work. It should have some rubber buffers on the underside so that it slots onto the posts on your engine and the oil filler cap locks it into place. You’ll need to be fairly aggressive with a dremmel to trim down some of the edges, but keeps the water out much better and you can’t see the cuts once fitted.

I test fitted one of these to mine a while back, it just mounted straight on with no changes needed and wedge under the clam which held it in place, looked fine but I was just worried about escaping heat.

I’ve got one that’s cut to fit - but can’t use anymore as I’ve got ITBs fitted.

If you pay postage (or pick it up) you can have it for free....

Have to dig it out though...

Oh, that's incredibly kind of you!  Yes I'd go for that, thank you very much!
