Hi guys and girls,

I'm new here. I am a final year Automotive Engineering student, looking for some information.

I don't actually have a VX220, but it is a car that I've had a thing for since the 2002 game Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2, in which the VX220 Turbo is one of the first cars you can drive. As a result of this childhood fondness, I was super excited whene my university assigned me the task of working on one for my final year project.

We are a racing team using a Vauxhall VX220 Turbo as our car. I have two questions:

1). Our engine blew up last year and needs a rebuild. I am trying to find forged racing pistons and con rods. Would anyone be able to recommend a good and relatively well priced place to look for them? Any product suggestions would come in handy.

2). I am also planning to make some custom channels inside the side vents. Would anyone be able to provide accurate dimensions for the vents, as I cannot find them anywhere online? The unfortunate problem is that the car is actually in another location having a backup engine mapped. As a result of this, obtaining accurate dimensions is exceedingly difficult.

Thank you for your help.

Best,

Erik.

Are you taking over the purple peril from Alex Hearnden?

Hi Nev

Not entirely sure who alex is, but our car is indeed purple...and was in peril a short while ago :D .

Also, Project Nipper looks AWESOME! Really love the look of that.

Any update on the vent dimensions? Also, would you know which forged racing pistons would best suit the car?

Thanks.

Best,

Erik.

Can you describe what exact dimensions you are looking for on the vents?

Do a Google search for forged pistons for vx 220, the results will include the relevant articles on this forum, tend to get better results from a Google search than the internal search, that's my experience anyway
