If you remove the air bag and steering wheel (disconnecting the battery first) do you need to reset the airbag light? And if so how do you do it?

Thanks

From searching it looks like I need to buy an OPCOM to reset the light.

If you disconnect the airbag first then remove and refit the wheel before reconnecting you'll be fine.

If you trip the light then you need the Lotus kit to reset, OBD won't do it.

Ok, thanks Pete :)

What happens if I want to remove the airbag completely? Is there a part you can fit to switch off the light and maintain it off?

220ohm resistor into the old connector with a bit of heat shrink over it to stop it falling out should do you. I have a new steering wheel to fit at some point and have been looking into this recently.

Just needs a resistor. I bought one of these because I'm lazy and it worked a treat.

Just do all the work with the battery disconnected.

Battery disconnected easiest answer, Opcom can reset light ( in my case anyhow) if you do trigger it.
