I’ve been offered a low mileage engine from a Vectra 2.2. I’ve been told that it’s the same engine that I have in my VX220 and it will fit without any mods. Can anyone confirm this please ?

Just check its not a 2.2 direct as these dont fit.

 

As far as the vx you will need to swap the oil cooler bypass and housing across otherwise a direct fit

has your engine died, or you just fancy swapping the lump as its lower milage? (not a gauge on being a better engine btw)

confirm its a z22se not a z22yh, easy way to do this is to compare the coilpacks.

Neither but ive had a few issues with Oil leaks on track days so was thinking about getting a spare and getting it in a decent state of service to use as a spare should the worse happen

not sure what a 2.2 direct is. How do I know the difference?

Z22yh is a direct injection engine... As opposed to the vx220 z22se... Which is not
