I’ve been looking for some fronts and I simply can’t find the Toyo R1R 195/50 r16 anywhere, not even eBay. Plenty of 205s around. This tyre doesn’t appear on Tokyo’s site either. It’s a bit of a pain if it is as I get through around 2.5 rears to 1 front and the rears are currently still quite new. If I go with a 205 I don’t want to be struggling to get hold of rears in a years time.

Pretty much, yes..

Lineup has been reduced a lot and AFAIK it's a 'running out' product so no new ones are made anymore.

Perhaps the guys at toyoracing.fr still have some in stock:

got the same issue as you but opposite end, rears need replacing but cant find stock. if forced to buy a full new set likley have a pair of part worn 105/50 r16s on the market

Thought that was the replacement for the pile of shite T1-R. :s

I think R1-R's were retired 4 or 5 years ago in 90% of sizes as they tended to delaminate and probably didn't pass the EU labelling tests. From memory, you couldn't get them in 195/50 16's anyway and most of us ended up with 205/50 or 205/45's for the fronts. Pretty sure if you can find some in any VX friendly sizes, they'd be old stock.

No idea, they’re all white aren’t they except the R888R?
