I am on RC6 in combination with zimmerman disks.
These disks get warped pretty easily after 1 trackday.

Due to low cost an acceptable behaviour, but i was thinking:

Eliseshop now advertises their 2 piece disks being as strong as AP disks.

Will those help against warping, or are RC6 so agressive that these will also warp and i end up with expensive paperweights?

Big standard heavy OE like plain disks.
Run PF for years and RC6 last year.
Never warped a disk.

have you checked the disks with a run out gauge?

 

make sure the hub and disc mating faces are very clean

I have had cheap discs skimmed on the car in order to get rid of the warp. Reasonably priced and effective.

I could get two seasons racing out of one set of Pagid discs with RC6. Even then they weren't warped just worn.Are you sure they're warped and it's not pad transfer?

Not sure now.
When new they brake nice.
Then very quickly i get judder during heavy breaking.

You aren't warping discs it pad buildup that causes juddering.

A lot of instances of judder are assumed to be warping but are actually pad transfer as said above.  Never suffered from this with the VX at all (on RC5+).  Assume you never use the handbrake or sit with your foot on the brake on a trackday, and do a cooling down lap etc.

Thinking about it further, I'd be checking the condition and free movement of all pistons and rear sliders... get an infrared thermometer and check the temps are even across each axle once you come in?

Think how much temperature is required to bend steel and how much temp you get braking. How is the disc warping?

I think plain discs are less susceptible to pad build up rather than drilled/grooved. Often you can cure it by giving the brakes a few hard stops. Sometimes having ubderused agressive track pads on road cars causes pad build up.

Had that as long as i can remember, and i used quite some disks.

Something learned.

 

So i can get pad buildup on the stronger disks like AP also?

Agree with this.

I used plain discs with no issue, swapped to Ultimax discs and warped the fronts in one track day.

Back to plain for me!

Well it seems it is. I always bedded mine in. Heavy braking down from 30 then 50 then 70 always did the trick.
