So what's the best website to use for selling my VX220?
I've only got it on here and gumtree so far. (And just started getting loads of nuisance calls after putting on gumtree)
Pistonheads or Autotrader will be the next ones.
Should I put it anyway else?
Is there a better way of selling it?

The last three cars I sold went through autotrader after trying all the usual other places with no luck. They weren't VXs but we niche/specialist cars.

Its pot luck with cars like this - you are looking for a very specific buyer and they can pop up anywhere. I recently sold a premium GT-Four Celica and the buyer from Ireland spotted it on the Pistonheads site (even though it was on ebay as well he didnt see it there).

Best you can do is bite the bullet, pick a few websites to cover your bases and pay the fees to increase your coverage. The main ones being ebay, pistonheads, autotrader I would say. But also bear in mind it could take months to sell, I had two crank calls for my Celica then one genuine one 6 weeks after advertising it (to whom it sold).

I doubt Gumtree is the place to sell it, most people look on there to spend under £25 on brick-a-brack, not a specialist car I'd image.

For the vx I dont think it matters where its advertised. If youre looking for one you’ll look everywhere as there isnt ever that many at one time

I thought the same, but it's free, so you never know.

I bought mine off an advert on here, was the only place it was advertised. Anyone specifically after a vx will definately be looking on here.

Pistonheads and autotrader the other best places imo if you want what its worth.

100% people will just look where they know, will probably google 'vx220 for sale' also etc. Cover your bases, post it as many places as you can, be prepared for low-ballers (have a copy pasted response ready!) and time wasters but don't get angry at them just dismiss them and move on. The right buyer will come along eventually.

Ive just sold a fiesta st200, not as niche i know but still rare and more expensive compared to similar ST3s and its a marmite colour.

I advertised it on gumtree, because its free and autotrader.

Had nothing in first week on autotrader and alot of spam from gumtree. Car was gone by second Monday.

Typically had half a dozen calls between the buyer paying the deposit and picking it up.
