With the original coilpack and sparks getting corroded in storage, is it safe to say storage was damp?

Also the 8yrs it spent without a garage wouldn’t have helped...next winter maybe I put a de-humidifier in my garage??

You seem one of the first having this 300 and 340 with a fresh oem coilpack.

With the original corosion problem, the next thing to check are the connectors behind the header tank.
Also referred to as the loom of doom.

the easiest method of checking that you have an oem coilpack is there will be a white sticker where the badge goes

No sticker but bought from here with the box covered in various Vauxhall holograms https://www.courtena...Coil-Pack-Z22SE im going to assume the sticker thing isn’t proof of OEM.

It’s not starting perfectly every time sometimes it’s stuttering and I can’t get to the connectors on the loom (the header tank bracket is corpses so wouldn’t be surprised if the connectors on it are..) without a jack so I’m just going to take it To back On Track next Saturday... just means gotta turn it on and off again every mile and put up with the fan blurring the entire way...

hopefully they have another 2.2 vx220 and can swap the coilpack with for a quick test, either way the guys at Back on Track will sort it for you :)

Have you checked the battery terminals are clean and tight?  I know it feels like I am clutching at straws but I've heard of stranger things...

Thought I should conclude this post as I know how annoying it is to not see the end of a problem on here :)

New coil pack etc went in but it did not fix the car... various sensors got changed and even the chain but the problem was actually the ECU. Rather than pay £1.1k + vat from Vauxhall I bought a 2nd Hand Vectra ECU... this did generate a fuel sensor error code but after a very helpful FB owners group feedback this was fixed. Should anyone want to know what the fix was for the Vectra ECU it was “ They should be using an MDI to use Tis2Web to download the new software (which is actually old software) to turn it into a vx220 controller. This turns off a whole bunch of crap that we don't use in our cars. Then set the variant configuration using tech 2“

New coil pack,
Chain,
ECU
Labour split across BOT and a main dealer
£2k... could have been a lot worse! But it did take 3.5months..

Useful info. Was the ecu reprogrammed by the vauxhall dealer or a 3rd party ?
