For sale is my VX220 2.2L non-turbo which I bought just over 3 years ago with the idea of building into a very high spec endurance race car but the project never got started. I chose this car specifically because it was completely standard and not messed with. It was also HPi clear meaning it was structurally straight and undamaged plus the relatively low mileage and comprehensive service history meant it would have been an excellent base car.

Having made the decision a few months ago to now sell it on I have made a few improvements including fitting new headlight lenses as the old ones had suffered from from the usual age related glazing, new dashboard fascia and a new Sony Bluetooth stereo. The overall condition is pretty good.

I have the original service book which shows annual servicing from 2003 to 2015, 75224miles, as well as most of the invoices showing the work carried out. I purchased the car in Feb 2016 where the mileage was just 76063miles and then declared it SORN. I didn't get another MOT until May 2018, 76296miles. The car has been stored in my garage all these years and now has 76303miles and a new MOT.

The bodywork is in pretty good shape for a 17 year old car. It polishes up well and looks good at a distance. Up close you will notice the expected stone chips on the front, the usual paint phasing in some small areas and some signs of repainting but no signs of crash repair work. The interior is very good with clean carpets, undamaged dashboard and the only issue with the leather seats is the usual wear to the lower part of the bolster on the driver's seat only.

Everything appears to work correctly except for the heater. No heat comes out and the fan only works on maximum speed. Apparently this is all quite normal for these cars and there are replacement/upgrade heater assemblies available if you want to drive the car in cold weather.

Tyres are Bridgestone Potenzas all around with even wear and around 3-4mm of tread on all four. The alloys are in pretty good shape with some curbing marks and scratches but look fine from a distance.

The brake discs are lightly corroded due to lack of use but will clean up within a few road miles. There's no sign of wear on them so must have been replaced at one of the last services.

I have both the hard roof and soft top, service pack and two keys.

The car drives exactly as it should, solid and sharp. It is not fast but sounds great and is fun to drive.

To summarise, I would describe the car as being in good condition all round and ready to drive away. It is not pristine and my asking price reflects this. However, it is a very good example of this modern classic which are increasing in value.

Any inspection is welcome. It is currently garaged at my home address which is very close to M27 Junction 7.

Cash or bank transfer only.
