I bought a set of genuine BMW 'black' wheel bolts for my silver ATS dtc wheels, think they were about £100 for the full set of twenty bolts.
Be careful as BMW have two thread types.

Thought about that but it would just come off the first time you take the wheel off. Happy to spend a few quid on bits here and there.

bin the locking bolts , the cheesy metal will round off at the most annoying moment

Yes that was part of the plan, to get a decent set of steel bolts on there and bin the old stuff.

M12 x 1.5 according to this old thread - http://www.vx220.org...ew-wheel-bolts/
bolt thread length is 26mm according to the ebay links mentioned in that thread.

I've got chrome plated ones at the moment but had been thinking of changing to black. However I wouldn't pay twenty squids for a bolt to put through my neck.

You can get black plastic camps that sit over the bolts... look good and last well
