Is the engine in an 2008 Astra VXR the same as in a VXT?

Brother is looking at buying an Astra VXR and wondered whether anyone on here had any experience of them and known issues / good / bad etc

Cheers

Not sure.

Siztenboots can probably answer that.

Think Rusty had one for a short while.

Astra VXR is a Z20LEH
Vx220 is a Z20LET

Basically the same but the LEH has stronger pistons and oil squirters.
LEH turbo is better too. Stronger cast and can hold big boost better

Turbo different but very much the same setup as LET other than points mentioned already

M32 box can have issues but well documented as are usual LET usual points

Check cambelt, water pump servicing, look for oil leaks and poor upgrades areas ;)
Can't commemt on Astra chassis, electrics etc

small differences , the LEH thermostat has a return metal pipe along top of the turbo , rather than the Lotus rubber hose clipped to the bulkhead , plus the obvious stuff powersteering , aircon etc.

which one is better or worse depends on condition

turbo wise both are old units are now superceded
