Hi all,

I have now had the classic symptons of engine management light coming on, engine going into limp mode etc. on my 2.2n/a.

I have been told that it is likely to be the accelerator pedal sensor that is faulty.

I see that a couple of years ago, this subject was aired on our website. Bell and Colvill have one for the Elise at £127.00 plus VAT/delivery and the part number is A116J0003L. It appears that this will be correct for the VX220 but they(Bell/Colvill) can't confirm.

Anybody out there know whether this is the right one before I order?

Much obliged for any response.

Bob

before you spend any money it's probably best if you check the 'loom of doom' connectors behind the coolant tank, check the ECU wiring plugs for corrosion and that the throttle body is not gunked up.

It's quite rare that the throttle pedal itself fails, but there have been a couple. I have a brand new throttle pedal available if you really need one, also check the ECU codes,

Thank you Vocky for your in depth reply. I will be checking those points within the next couple of days. Meantime, I would be grateful to have first refusal on the throttle pedal you have if you are agreeable.

Cheers.

I had the pedal sensor replaced several years ago due to these symptoms from memory it was around £200?at Vauxhall. It happened again about 4 years ago and the just cleaned the plug which is underneath the wheel arch I believe and was ok plus they didn’t charge me.
They said it was sustainable to getting dirt in connection due to the location (albeit I only do 150 dry miles a year)
