I was out driving when I suddently got a engine Gaula lamp together with ABS light, brake etc.
I tjen got failure P1514.

Stop the car, but tjen IT did not start again. Charged up and started at once

Checking when I was running and IT is no checked the «sense» cable on the alternator but this seems OK.

The alternator is new and I have a eaton m62 supercharger.

Someone know what IT Can be ?

People have reported a 1514 in the following situations:

- scangauge set to showing more then 3 values

- faulty injector

- faulty map sensor

- Leak in inlet manifold

- TB clogged up with crap preventing full opening.

What were the latest changes/maintenance you or a garage did to the car?

If you charge your battery and start the car, measure the voltage of the battery with car on and off.

When off, should be around 12v, When running (rev it up a bit) should be near 14 volt.

If you do not get 14v, the alternator is fooked.

I did that and it doesn't go over 12,6.

But can it be that a new 100A alternator i dead after a few miles ?

Either faulty wiring/connectors somewhere or the new alternator is not working.

Is it more than the "sense" wire ?

Where is that connected in the other end ? Should I measure a voltage on this cable when engine is running ?

Does this have a fuse somewhere ?

Whats your rev limit ? And have you got an underdrive pulley on the alternator?

The increased rpm of the charger conversions reduces the alternator life quite quick, i went through 2 alternators before putting an under drive pulley on.

If you need one let me know, they are £100

6400rpm

Yes i got a pulley on a bracket by the side of the alternator if that's what you mean ?

I meauremd now on the "sense" wire and its no voltage on it. Should it be ? The battery light is not on.

If i need a new one, can you ship to norway ?

Ok, so the pulley is 100 pounds ?

at that rev limit it wont need a oversized pulley

yes, but at that rev limit you wont need it.. you only need it if its above 7000 rpm

Should it be voltage on the "sense" wire ?

What is the easiest way to change the alternator ? Can I do it through the wheel arch ?

I have a 120A laying around, can I move over the Regulator since this is the most likely to be blown ?

120 amp alternator does not easily fit a SC, much easier to replace the 100 amp with another 100 amp.

wheelarch is easier, otherwise you need to pull off the SC and lift it out the top.

No supercharger is still working and ITS around the pulley of the alternator.
