Have anyone put 235/40 on 7.5" rim? they recomend 8-10" rim ? will the tyre keep a flat surface?

I think lots of people run this on the rears.

Seen plenty of AD08R’s running 235/40/17

According to the net on a 7.5” rim, minimum size 205 recommended is 215 or 225. Max is 235

I'm running 235 on a 7.5" rim for my wets on a, Toyo R1R. They have been fine no problems 👍

7.5J is a TD rear i believe, so plenty use 235 on those.

In Europe with DTC's popular, rears are 9j.

I got a pair of TD 9s for the rear for my dry set and squeezed a 255 at the back on standard arches.

 A 235 section tyre is the recommended limit on a 7.5J wheel, but I've heard of some having difficulty actually fitting a 235/40/17 on a 7.5J wheel, which I think is dependant on tyre type - R-rated and semi-slicks being problematic, presumably due to much stiffer side wall construction.

I have 235/40 17 contisport 5 fitted to my Td 7.5” with no issues fitting and the wheel look like they could take a wider tyre.
