I take it you know you can get them from here and where rather hoping for a used one? Good luck on your turret not being seized and requiring removal...

Has anyone installed one? Can it be done in situ? Big job?

I have done a couple now, they do make a decent difference so worth fitting. I wouldn't ever bother trying to do it in situ, much easier to just unbolt and remove the selector turret so you can get it in a vice. Both times I have needed the use of an air hammer to push the pin out of the old selector.

Thanks, how much time does it take? Sorry I am not too savvy on this area of the car!

I always felt a short shifter didn't do the shift action any favours - shorter yes, but it made the shift stiffer and a bit more reluctant.. End result being I didn't shift any quicker!

I would allow half a day as It helps to take the rear wheel off and arch liner out of the way to access the selector turret retainer bolt, plus however long it takes to force the old pin out, which can be a massive pain.

Yes they do make shifting a little stiffer, maybe try driving someone else’s car that has one first If you’re not sure.
