I've destroyed the CV joint of my left driveshaft (the short one) on a trackday on my VXT.

I'm looking for a new driveshaft but don't know where to find one (I'm in france).

Any ideas or someone with a second hand one to sell ?

Thank you ;)

Second hand market in the UK, maybe eBay? I think the short one can be found on eBay, but not the long one.

Thank you, I've already seen this one, but I'm not confident with the reliability of it on a high powered track car.

I prefer to stay on a GM one, except if someone says it is a good product.

I have one for the near side (left side), haven't had any issue with it ... And I think I am not the only one. The one linked here seems to be the off side (right side) so the longer one..

I was in the same boat a couple of years ago, bought from GM, £400 odd, but worth it to me for the reliability.

Are the CV's not a stock part from an astra or Vectra? I thought it was the shaft that was the unique part?

I'm not 100% sure, but it sure looked a damn lot like an Astra driveshaft.

Yes it would be interesting to know if a joint from an astra would work or not, but the pictures of it that I can find confuse me. Too many different versions...

Correct... the shorter eBay one is the right fitment but nobody seems to stock or know the correct dimensions for the long one.

I installed the shorter and it seems fine, but I've only done 1k miles since my refresh.  I found a genuine longer one, that had probably been sitting in one of Thorney's cupboards for 10 years.

I am pretty sure that Mark (Mbes) used the eBay shorter one too, and has probably done lots more miles than me! :)

I fitted a OEM long one, along with a Ebay short one. Which Seems fine and holding up well after over 4k miles with a track day.

Its just std NA power but thumbs up from me for the ebay one (short)

Thanks

I think the CV joints are universal to both sides. They are splined on the shaft and retained by a circlip. If I am wrong I am sure someone on here will correct me. I have a brand new OEM long one with one CV joint. I also have a second hand one complete with two CV joints in excellent condition. £100 each plus delivery.

Yes, inside CV joint, are the same right to left If I look at VX references.

Oddly, outside CV joint have different references.

pm sent ;)
