I have an itb car going for mapping soon. Do I need to check the balancing of the ITBs and idle screws before it goes?

Don’t think there is an issue, but wondered if it was out would it up set the whole mapping? My thoughts were that it will only affect idle and early opening of throttle, rather than the mapping, so could always be done later if it was an issue.

It's the small throttle openings that's the trickiest to map for driveability even without the added complexity of balancing ITB's. I'd consider it part of the mappers job (for a price) to check the setup is correct mechanically before they get busy with the laptop and wouldn't take it anywhere that wasn't happy to do this.

Is there an echo in here?

Good luck with the mapping Mat. Hope you keep the love for your car - you’ve worked hard to get to here!

so every year i have to rebalance the ITBS.  thankfully no longer the TPS!   generally the idle falls down and the engine isn't as smooth on small throttle inputs (as above)

i have always tried to get them around 5.5 on the air metre.

So does it really matter what the air reading is?  (within reason of course) as i had always though this would effect the air/fuel ratio throughout.

However it only effects on low inputs of throttle and once the valves are open it doesn't matter so much?
