I fail to understand how supposedly intelligent educated people thought they could stop it after it had been democratically voted for. It was always going to happen no matter what obstacles were put in its way.

NEXIT next?

I don't think so.

Our economy is extremely intertwined with Germany, and our politicians only look out to get promoted to an EU job, and don't give a rats ass what happens locally.
We voted against EU once in a referendum, with which they wiped their arse and continued anyway.
Not much EU love here, but stuck against the wall.

Sounds like the possibility (or lack of) of Scexit / Scotland  - Economy closely intertwined with you neighbour. Self-serving political class. Poor focus on local issues.

Ah yes - the 27% of the voting population who voted for Brexit - that's democracy in action!  When I voted for it I said (said it to someone today actually) Brexit will be a long drawn out painful process, which will take ten years or so to sort out in its entirety, and only then will we know whether it was worth it or not.  So I voted for it, but I don't think the remainers got a fair deal.

democratically voted for.

A remainers silly attempt at maki g out it wasn't voted for. If it had gone the other way in the same fashion you wouldn't be saying the same thing. Tragic, desperate and laughable

I think it was stupid to only have 1 selection. You should have 3.

What do you think you will gain with Brexit?

What do you think you will gain with Brexit?
, Per

The chance to pass the laws that we want in our own country and to set our own priorities for our own people's best benefit.

The chance to trade properly with the people we want to trade with, including our friends from the commonwealth many of whom we have not been able to trade with due to EU regulations.

A whole bunch of stuff really Per.

Tell me, what do you hope to gain Per from the EU, other than your hard earned taxes being used on vanity projects by largely unelected bureaucrats. Or wasted on day trips to Strasbourg every month (despite their obvious commitment to cost efficiency, their ever so fervent "eco" credentials and law, etc)

By damn, I cannot wait for the state of the EU to fall and when it returns back to what it was always intended to be, a trading bloc, then maybe we'll come back and join in! Until then. Bye.
