Well it's developing into a completely stupid situation as far as I can see.

Football is cancelled but Cheltenham goes ahead . Either it's a death virus or not.

Disney is closing announced earlier this week but closing from Saturday. If its a death virus close immediately?

The worry as I see it is that this Coronavirus thing blows over. All the crazy kneejerk stuff that's going on is exposed for being just that. Then something really serious crops up and we end up in a Boy who cried wolf scenario.

The affect on business looks to be tightening. Could take BA down. Numerous small businesses will go under. Just when the Brexit fug was clearing as well.

Think we should by now be calling it the new Cold War and blaming it on Putin.

Jut a reality checkpoint here

191 People died of MRSA in 18/19 in the UK

We are closing the country down having lost 11 people.

What logic is this following?

Is there any chance that what's happening in other countries might just be a hint?

All borders into and out of Jordan closed from midnight on Monday. I'm better of here than the madness of the UK anyway.

I object to this government referring to the population of this county being termed a "herd". We are humans who can show compassion to their fellow kind and our natural reaction in times of extreme stress and danger is to try to help each out out. This lot in charge seem to be saying that it's OK to "cull" part of the herd for the greater (economic?) good. Perhaps, if Boris and co where termed "elderly" they might take a different view!

Thick end of 2000 die on the roads die every year. That could be severely reduced, but we have to identify the right balance. The gov’t appears the only sensible voice in Europe.

True, If we could" slow down" the "speed" of traffic accidents less people would die, just as if we could slow down the spread of COVD-19, more people could survive and less would die.

When you pass by an accident on the road, you physically don't become part of that accident, pass by a person suffering from the virus and it is likely that you will become part of the contagion. Road accidents don't increase exponentially each year!

I think that this nation is sleepwalking into a national health disaster, under the assumption that here in the UK, somehow, we will fare better than the likes of Italy and Spain. In two weeks time we will be in the same place as those two countries. The UK needs to wake up sooner than later to the impending disaster.

Now..... back to rigging up my oxygen supply to our emergency breathing apparatus!

It's a great time to invest, I've just shoved my max yearly amount into my shares ISA this weekend and another 12k into my pension. Within a year that will be +30%, quite possibly more.

"Live" stats are fairly meaningless given the lag between contraction and eventual death and the wide variance in undetected / unreported infection dependant on a country's health systems efficacy and transparency.

Precautions now, mathematics later.

On the disaster capitalism front (Nev 😁), the company I work for has hire contracts with a couple of the supermarkets and the orders they've just placed are bigger than for Christmas 😮, so I'll be very busy for the next few weeks (ker-ching!).
