hi,

I ordered one but the guy never get back to me, never answer to questions, no phone number….

I finally finished to contact via the Lotus forum, take me a while !!!

because their is no dialogue i was worried to have an issue and never get that sorted.

I saw one guy sold it because he never managed to sort his problem (option he tried to do), I contact him and confirmed my worried.

I finally received my money back even i asked him first to answer to me and have a phone number.

Instead of to sell his product and discuss with me, he just send me back my money.

Even after i still pushed to have answer because i really wanted this product but noway stop to answer to me.

I really do not know how he can make business but I do not recommend to go further, if you have any issue you will have a product you can do nothing with and it's not something cheap so hard decision.

i still want it but he closed the door and me i just tried to open the dialogue.

Good luck but i wanted to let you know as a person on this forum, we are all here to help each other.

Let me know your final decision and we can talk if you want.

It was a simple order, ship, plug and drive for me!  I ordered way back in the first tranche 3 years ago. Was delivered as promised, sat in a box for 2.5 years, then fitted it and it worked!

Only 1 issue with fuel sensor (turns out it was simply the pin needed pushing in to the connector) and it works perfectly.

Support was fast and responsive.

I know for some people it has been a bit hit and miss with comms. But one very happy customer here.

I had battery drain problems (latest unit) - had to disconnect a pin for battery indicator light (I dont care about that)

software bug where I couldnt set mileage

had to offset for engine temp

instructions dont match current software - had to guess some things

but all sorted now and unreal. I also disconnected the door inputs to stop it powering up when I open the door. It powers up when I ign on so takes a little longer but Im ok with that. If I was working on the car and opening the door a lot it was draining the battery

Out of interest @paul_mck can you remember the inputs for the doors. I'd be keen to do that too and happy to wait for the screen to start up on ignition as I usually warm the car before driving it.

Thanks

A-ha. Good idea. I took the bulb out of the light as it's bloody useless anyway to be honest.

Sent mine of for repair still not had it back or en email even though I have sent two emails asking for updates, just ignored.

So spent £700 and it’s not worked properly once since I owned it and had several months without it.
Drained my battery and cost me £100 for a new battery for nothing as Paul helped me and resolved the draining issue.

Overall not pleased but the unit looks great, looking forward to it actually working

It was so simple to answer like that, I do not know why he didnt answer.

I know the normal display doesnt go over 48L if i understood.

I contacted Spitfire engineering and I believe the fuel level is based on the resistance of the float - so, just to help others on the Spitfire Fuel Pump the range is 40-250 Ohm (empty - full) so you can input this into the GARW setup screens (GARW provided me the figures to use:

Scaling 2.1

Offset - 19 (that's minus 19)

The fuel level as displayed as a percentage full of the tank seems to work fine.

I found both Gary at @Sptifire and Garw to both be responsive.

I have one. It's great. So I won't sell it to you. So there!  na na na na naaaaaa!

Seriously though, they do come up for sale and I think the last 2 I saw where on faceshite - I think one on the VX stream and one on the Lotus stream.  Good luck, I do hope you get sorted Colin.
