Hi guys
Been trying to get to the end of an ongoing problem with the vx220 n/a starts ticks over runs fine until temperature reaches above 90 then just cuts out restarts within seconds thought it was temperature sensor changed didnt change anything advice was possible crank sensor or egr both changed but still same problem.
I have checked pressure on fuel rail nlpple with dash lights on and off nothing comes out of nipple does this mean fuel pump? Even though it ticks over until temperature reaches 90 and above

Does the engine management ligt illuminate? Any fault codes?

The burnt wire seems a good bet - how on earth (no pun) did it get burnt?

That plug looks more like one of the O2 sensors, they're 4-pin/wire. I think the crank sensor is 3-pin. Given it's a 2.2, it's possible you may have an unused O2 sensor plug on the loom too, just to add to the confusion.

I've been down this route with my old Monaro. Earth issue meaning wires like this were a better bet for return to earth. On that car it was investigate earth issue, find problem(needed to clean up both main earths), renew burnt wires and/or plug, jobs a good un.

Burnt wire was wrapped around the egr sensor so close to cylinder head passenger side going to have a look now if it can be fixed or replaced

Traced wire seems to go to the newly installed temperature sensor which may resolve my ongoing problem can you get hold of the loom bit for this i.e from temperature sensor to the loom plug 4pin or do you have to cut in another plug

No I don't understand this problem it was fine and has been for the 3 years I have owned it.
About a month ago I took it for a run once about 20/ 25miles it cut out restarted after about 30 seconds went on to cut out 3 times before I got it home

Does the grey relay (fuel pump) in the back still look okay?
You can swap it with the one from the horn to be sure,

If that does not help, then the same advice as i gave on facebook: you will have to inspect your fuelpump

I haven't swapped the grey relay will try that I'm really reluctant to do the fuel pump because it ticks over fine for about 10 to 15 minutes its just when it reaches temperature it cuts out but restarts fine again so seems to be getting petrol no problem I'm going to do coil pack next and then maybe do fuel pump or just send it to someone who knows about the vx
