After checked gearboxcables and had the gearselector out from the gearbox and everything looks good  so..

And still miss first gear

My qustion are, is it possible to take the gearbox out in left rear wheelhouse? or take the rear clam of?

Are there any close ratio gearbox alternativ?

its easier with clam on but remove pax rear wishbones, hub and driveshaft, then drop gear box out the bottom

4.17 zafira 2.2 gearbox is a good mod.

i have a good used standard box if you want a cheap box thumbsup

If your gearbox is coming out make sure you do the slave cylinder while you are there. New clutch and lightweight flywheel make sense as well at this stage. It's nice and easy with the clam off, when I did mine it meant there was loads of space.

second the new slave cylinder, i have changed so many now and re-using it is just not worth the hassle, the chances of it working once its been off is slim, a mate had one work for a couple weeks, soon as we did a track day it blew.. had to get the AA home.. :(

i can sort you out with a new slave and clutch if you want to look at replacing that while you are there, i do an uprated clutch which feels OEM but handles 300bhp/275ftlbs no problem

drop me a PM if you need .

I've taken out mine a couple of times. It is not fun but even I could do it....

There used to be a very good guide here on the stickies.

You can keep the clam on. You work from the left wheelhouse and tilt the engine.
