Hi All

I am fairly new to the VX community, having owned a 2004 Turbo (stage 2 238bhp) for a year or so, and I must say I am loving it.

I want to swap the current engine and turbo for a forged engine, with a larger turbo and supporting ecosystem such as cooling and fuel. I am thinking maybe a Saab platform. I am looking for 350+ HP and big torque.

Please can you offer some advice on the best route to take to purchasing or building an engine?

Thanks in advance folks!

You can forge your current engine with new internals different turbo etc....easily get 400+ hp, courtenay sport did mine, biggest problem I had was pro alloy charge cooler was very prone to fracturing so if doing it again I would def be looking for an alternative or some serious reassurance that this is no longer an issue.

Would imagine stage 2 to 400hp plus drive in/ out at Courtenay would be very big money.

They can make one with stronger side walls and corner bracing if you ask. I asked for this, as well as a large inlet + outlet pipes and it has surivived quite a lot of 25 PSI and even some runs with 30 PSI in my car over 10 years.

I will be putting some remaining parts from my 450+hp previous engine setup for sale. Eg. PWR charge cooler, pump and pro alloy pre-rad. Also have a complete 3" exhaust that fits garrett or BW turbo fitted on Klasen cast manifold.

As already stated above, LEH pistons and better rods and get the block pinned that is what finally gave up from fatigue on mine, can really recommend fitting klasen intake and exhaust manifold in combination with klasen cams.

The drive in/ out cost to go from 300 hp to 400+ hp at Courtenay is eye watering !

That picture is my block back in the workshop after Steve wedged it and bored it - that was some 3 years ago now.

Running 440ish with margin for plenty more.
