Is there an off the shelf brake upgrade that people use for fast road and track? Bigger/better calipers etc? What calipers are a straight swap?

What Brake Upgrade?

im looking at putting my brake discs back into production, they are a fully floating brake disc rotor & bell. I will probably be looking at it in the next couple months once i have finished some of the ongoing projects

Carbon Loraine RC6 pads, and anything from the blue section for fluid.

As above, pads and fluids most significant. There are a few people who have upgraded to a Porsche set-up:

And good pads at rear. Front IT doesn't matter

People have entered race series with these cars on standard calipers and discs without issue. Just upgrade the pads and fluid

True dat,
However, when you get proper brakes like mine which weight next to nothing the gains you get from unsprung mass reduction and rotational inertia make the upgrade far more than just stopping in a straight well.
next time we are out, ill let you have a go in mine and you will see exactly what im talking about

I have the EP 4 pots up front and the 2 pot front callipers moved to the rear (you need an adapter plate, also make sure you clean the mating surfaces otherwise your brakes will squeal like piggies) with a small spot calliper for the rear handbrake. I have the 36/40mm ones of these https://www.elisepar...brake-calipers/ (you can get them without the Lotus branding
Can't fault them, they are on 308mm Ali bells front discs and standard discs at the rear and braking power is immense, plus no fade on track even with really hard use. After I did the mod, I didn't like the softer pedal which reduced feel, and tried a load of different things (http://www.vx220.org...+bb +conversion) ultimately culminating in changing the master cylinder for one from a Porsche Cayenne http://www.vx220.org...ake +conversion. You need to have it machined to make it fit, but now it works like a dream
