Have been following threads recently and have seen the question asked but have not seen an answer: Can any one give their experiences of the Hard Top available from the shop? Is it as good as, worse or better than the OEM lid. Obviously the price is good. I am thinking of getting one for an NA. Sorry if I have missed a previous thread. PM me if you want to keep your feedback personal ;) Thanks.

Hi I've got one of the shop hard tops and its fine, fits well and doesn't leak or make creaking noises. Colur match is good and comes with a padded bag for storage. Got a few niggles with the lining at the edges but bit of glue sorted that. Well pleased at the moment particularly since I can take it on and off quickly so easy to take advantage of winter sun :D

Thanks for the response. So are you suggesting its quicker to fit than an OEM? Have you a VX NA or VXT? Sounds like a definite recommendation anyway.

Did you get instructions with yours? Thorney forgot to put mine in. Was having bother fitting it when I got it, me and my dad were both scratching our heads trying to fit it, I do have the old style brackets on mine though so it could be that. Cant do much yet anyways till my car comes back from repair.

Got a VXT. can fit the had top in about 2 - 3 mins tops on my own and can get it off in just over 60 seconds if I try hard :D Didn't get any instructions but I had it delivered and fitted so saw how it was done. You need to remove the rear mounts for the soft top , takes about 10 - 20 seconds with a allen key then fit the front of the roof with a deep socket and rachet set, clamps along the whole front of the windscreen with 3 nuts. Then just two hooks at the back fit on the fibre glass lip just in front of the roll bar and then tighten down with a kind of wing nut thingy. Dead easy :D

I've just bought an oem hardtop. It does creak a lot and takes ages to fit, but the finish is good. It certainly looks pukka.

I'm re-doing the instructions tomorrow am (needs 2 people to do the piccies, can't hold a camera at same time :P ) and I'll email them out to everyone who has one and is awaiting one. Sorry I didn't do this earlier. I've got 3 Calypso red, 1 silver and 1 black this week, the red are arriving tomorrow and the back and silver on Friday. Due to issues with TNT damaging them (then declining the insurance claim as it was signed for in good condition  ) I'm now boxing each roof with its own custom box. This costs an extra £5 though  Also, I'll get the frist carbon fibre roof tomorrow as well, can't wait to see it B)

I scanned them in and posted this on a thread for someone a few months back. God knows which thread though, and the "Search" facility is a bit weak sometimes, but you could try... or perhaps the guy who requested it remembers and can post a link...

Mine OEM HT did creak when I had the cushions on. Without them not!

I scanned them in........................................................... post a link...

Try this......Clickclick

Edit: add, I have OEM and it fits like a glove, no window adjustment needed and they butt up to the rubber seal with a precision I haven't seen for some time, watertight, no sqeaks, no rattles.
It says on the tin somewhere though, that they're not meant to be taken on and off frequently, prolly only once or twice a season - so that's where Thorney's model may score........
