Hello from Chester.  Not able to help with garages in your neck of the woods, just saying hi to another Cheshire VX220 owner.

Hello Burdock - Could try been using NSB Motorsport Ltd, Unit 16/17 Britannia Park North Road, Cobridge, Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ST6 2PZ,

Its Neil Emery,  ex Vauxhall and was trained on the VX when they were new. He's always seen me right on the general upkeep and servicing.

Hi
Thanks for the hellos and leads on servicing in the locality, I work in Stoke so NSB will be worth a look.
The other issue is I've lost my lights and will post another request on those.
Cheers

Sounds like NSB will be convenient for you, I'm a bus ride away, does make VX ownership easier having a garage you can trust nearby.

What's up with the lights, look at my thread in general discussion, ended up an easy fix

Agree on that.  I'm about a ten minute walk from MW Performance in Chester so my car has been with them for a few things.  Even just knowing that a garage understands how to get in and out of these cars, or how to lift properly, was something that concerned me.

Trust and peace of mind is a big thing.

Completely agree. Important to use someone you can trust and knows these cars if you can.

I have known the car since it was new, it was my mates who lived abroad so only used infrequently over the summer months, they were going to get a new car and didn't want the hassle of selling privately so we're just going to part ex it, I was offered it at the part ex price which knowing the history was something that shouldn't be missed , convinced the wife and got it , this was a few years ago and got it serviced when got it at Vauxhall main dealer they seemed to know abit which was fine but not sure would trust them now , it hasn't had a hard life since but needs a service soon hence the question. Plus when brought out from its winter retreat lost the lights and had visions of an expensive bill for a probably simple solution that someone who knows the cars will be able to sort easily.

Thanks for your comments , I had looked at your thread prior to posting , I've taken switches out and cleaned , checked all fuses and looked at relays , and tried swapping but still no joy.

Cheers

Not sure if the links are in my thread but the other main cause is corroded wiring/ terminals, did the terminals look ok under the relays, I have some on the start relay that are always getting pushed back
