Clam supports under bonnet falling apart, no wonder there's so much rattling when I'm driving  :excl:

No joy

 

The Useful Thread Collection has nothing   Most of pictures from Front Clam Removal Guide no longer there.........

 

 

Thinking I might need to cook up a couple of metal supports..... :tumble:

What thickness did you use? (don't want to get everything out of line but obviously needs to be strong enough!!)
 

You didn't by any chance get round to drawing a pattern did you?  :tt:

I did this out of 3mm aluminium on both sides, mine had completely broken off on one sidePosted Image

I used carbon fiber sheet. The link should take you to a photo. I noticed it cracking where the bolt went through so it didn't completely snap off. Araldited the plate in place too. Apparently it's quite common for this to happen so something preventative might be a good idea.
