Maybee a strange topic but my question is, if the rear clam's differ between the 220NA and the Turbo version?

I have been of the impression that they should be the same and hopefuly interchangable.

Please respond and if there is a difference, please describe.

I for sure have a reason for asking and I will let you know when answer/description is provided.

They're different.

The 2.2 NA version has a larger boot/rear compartment than the turbo version. The mounting points are all the same and the turbo clam would happily fit on an NA but the NA clam won't fit the turbo car due to the amount of extra rubbish attached to the turdblo engine (at least not without chopping about with the boot wall).

Ok damn, Does the NA clam take the Turbo Side vents/air intakes straight on? Are there any other differences between the two clam's?

It's actually the side sills that are the key problem to fitting turbo ears as they are different between NA and turbo cars. You need to cut out the body coloured panel in front of the NA intake grills to be able to retrofit turbo ears to a NA car, you might need to trim a mm or so off the flange at the rear of the NA grill opening to get the ears to fit neatly, then you'll need to bond some form of fastening (usually a BigHead fastener) to the inside of the sill section to fasten the ears to.

There are a couple of aftermarket "turbo" ear options that are a direct fit to the NA though. Jonnyboy from this forum (lotushardtops.com) does a version and there's a guy in Italy that also does something similar.

Ok, thanks for all answers and support "techie". Here is my problem.

I have a VX220 Turbo that i wanted to have a more cupe look on and possibly an improved engine ventilation as a side efect. Said and done, I contacted eltech-italia.com for thier rear bonnet. They did not inform me that they were to manufacture a bonnent only fitting the NA version of the car but that was what they shiped and I recieved several months after agreed production and delivery time. I have of course documented the missfit and mailed them about this, without response so far. Well I hav only nudged them yet once in this matter, second time will be after this posting. Since their website/ facebook site nor the representative I have been in contact with ever mentioned that their bonnet only fit NA i feel a bit frustrated. Maybee they have a turbo version and this is only a matter of wrong shipment, time will tell. But if not, then the question is how to handle the problem and maybee fitting a NA clam ditching the boot could be a way fwd. Otherwise .....

Eltech is not known for it's customer service, so good luck with that.
The coupe itself however is very sought after, so you should be able to get rid of it easy.

Best on the facebook page. https://www.facebook...oups/2243368893

If you insist to keeping it, you would need to do diy to it, as i believe only the lock part needs relocating.
