My VXT is a 2nd car but I want to use it more, so I need some sensible tyres...

I run a separate set of wheels for trackdays and the summer, so this question is just about:

- autumn / winter / spring - realistically it won't get used that much in the winter... but it's nice to go for a blat on a cold crisp clear day and I want the option of doing so relatively safely

- wet track days

Standard. The track wheels are 16/17.

A quick search on bkackcircles suggests one on the few matching F/R tyre combinations available from a quality manufacturer for standard wheels are Michelin Pilot Sport 4. I have no experience of them on the VX, but on other cars I have found them to be excellent. They are a UHP summer tyre, so grip levels are going to tail off below 8°C but they remain predictable and are otherwise very good in the wet. Not bad for wear either. I'd be amazed if they were not a significant upgrade over the stone age Bridgestones.

That's for 195/45R17 fronts and 225/45/R17 rears BTW.

I know this Q has been asked before (sorry) .... but will 195/45R17 work as a direct replacement for the Bridgestone 175/55R17 n/a front wheels?

I have been blown away by the PS4S tyres on my GR4.  I put PS4's (couldn't get the S version) on my wife's R32 and they work brilliantly on that.

I would happily put these on the VX.

Regards

Roy

Yes, you can put PS4 on your OEM wheels (195/45/17 front) and it works fine

yes, 195/45/17 is the go-to alternative size.
