I've just had to change the electric window carrier mechanism on my wife's one owner fabia. Why don't the manufacturers life the components to last the life of the car? It's only done 340,000 miles ....

There was a time when the whole years production of Skoda cars, collectively, were not expected to do 340,000 miles!  I agree though a poor show.

It is shocking, the starter motor only last quarter of a million miles, clutch and exhaust hanging in there though so shouldn't grumble too much
