I feel most people consider the vx220 an odd choice but, accidents and tragedy aside, it's aluminium chassis and composite body and GM running gear means no rust and cheap fixes for wear items.
Most of the other cars in that list still have depreciation, 4th owner neglect, barry boys and that one last optimist who knows/hopes that the hesitation is a corroded coil pack wire and the window regulators are £8 and an afternoons work still to come.
On the other hand....
£9995 for a Peugeot 205 Gti?
Between Wheeler Dealers and the men in their mid-forties with full time jobs who still live with their mum (No! My mum lives with ME!!!!) and will buy £20k rusty Mk.2 Escort bulkheads if they have the VIN plate, we have succeeded in changing the 'They were good, in their day' car market for the worse. Or maybe the better if you own one.
In saying that the drive towards electrification will probably only increase that kind of thing, so maybe now is the time to hoover up Mk.6 Golf GTis, Corsa VXRs, and anything that has a version with a limited slip diff or a rear seat delete option.
