Out yesterday, the car was running fine but I started having the red light top centre of the console come on during mild over-run/decelleration at not fast speeds.  Any ideas welcome.

Which red light ? one of the symbols on the dash ? or some sort of light actually on top of the dash ?

Just been working on my car oblomov and the only red light i could see was what i assume is the one to tell you that the alarm/immobiliser is in the process of turning on or off (or that's what it seemed to be doing). It is the one located in the rev counter about two thirds of the way up the dial that i am talking about.

It's the red light that sits at the top of the rev counter display console on the turbo which flashes intermittently after engine turn off.  I read somewhere that it actuall indicates engine code faults if you're able to decipher the flashes but don't know how true that is.

Possibly a loose connection on the alarm live feed from the battery so it disconnects briefly and then flashes as it reconnects? Can't find any reference to the light being any sort of signal for an engine fault.

I think it also indicates high revs.
