Just checking out my VX for MOT on Tuesday and the rear fog is not working. I've checked the fuse, messed about with the switch, plugs etc etc but no luck. Also removed and re-seated the relay but still no luck.

Do you reckon it is the relay? How can I be sure before spending £25?

Can you hear the relay click when you switch the fog on?

Yes I've switched the main light switch on. Fuse is ok. Bulb is ok. The switch lights up (Green)

Can you check for, both power and ground ( separate tests ) at the rear end of the car ?

Relay failures are possible, but not that common really.

Or at the relay holder link out 30-87 and see if the light lights, or at least sends power to the rear. Equally check terminal 30 has 12v power etc

Any result on this problem yet P11 COV ? I don't really understand electrical systems but from my own recent experience with the feeds to the fog and reverse lights being the wrong way around i thought that if you don't have a multimeter perhaps it would be easier to swap the feeds between the fog and reverse at the back of the car and then see if the reverse light works. If it doesn't wouldn't that only leaves the relay as a possible cause? If it does it would, i think, mean that it is the fog light bulb, fitting or the wiring between the connector at the back and the fog lamp fitting that is at fault.
