I'm thinking of buying something interesting and a VX220 is close to the top of the list. Is there a list anywhere of things to look for that are specific to this model?

How long is a piece of string ?

 

Rusty suspension arms, suspension parts, suspension mounts etc.

 

Wiring issues around the 4 main relays in the clam and main black and blue connectors.

 

Headlight condition and headlight aim. Poor either way might suggest damaged headlights, these are very expensive to replace, and quite difficult to repair

 

Slightly less so, rear light clusters.

 

Also, what roof is supplied ? condition ?  Used soft tops are hard to find and very expensive, often circa £1k. Hard top maybe a bit cheaper ? But less practical if you want a roof you can easily take off/on during a trip

 

Whether it's a huge issue, CAT insurance damage, seems quite common history for clam damage.

 

Just general fibreglass condition, working light switches, standard fit alarm is a bit shitty, check both fobs work and present.

 

WIndscreen condition, these are available, but supply seems hit or miss in batches, and think it's a fair amount of work to replace.
