Has anyone on here taken the plunge and placed an order?
I'm wondering if the inline 4 engine might be the better choice if they really can hold it to £60k by the time it arrives?

The Power to weight and torque stats for the inline 4 look much better, I would be getting one of those if I had £60k.
Just depends if you really want that V6 noise.

i4 is auto only though isn't it, new gearboxes are crazy quick on the shifts, but part of the fun is the stirring your own.

Yes, the four cylinder will not be available with a manual. But some reviews suggest the v6 manual is not that great - which is odd given it must be derived from the Evora.

I keep toying with getting one, but it feels like I'd be cheating on the little Vauxhall.
I think this is what getting old feels like. :-(

I'm waiting for the I4, then I'll have my perfect car garage - an Evora 410 Sport, a VX220SC and an Emira I4.

I meant to add: Matt Windle was sounding very nervous about the £60k price tag - expect a revision very soon!

Well no, but they need to up their game if they're going to tempt the average Porsche driver to the brand...

I know it's well proven in the AMG hachback, but it strikes me as an Audi-esque engine that once something goes out of tolerance with wear everything needs to come out and be rebuilt, whereas the Toyota can be fixed with a hammer and plywood.
In fairness i'd never put enough miles on it to get brake dust on the wheels, never mind wear out the engine.

Had a look at one at Caffyns Ashford. Good looking car in the flesh. More room than my Exige 350. But lacks the aggressiveness, all those rough edges have been smoothed off. I’ve read the 4 cylinder has the power / remap potential and the V6 is same as in my car. Do I want one ? hmmmmmmmm ?

£80k really,! Why would you? £15k gets a 300bhp VX turbo, 60% of the weight of the emira, spend 30k on a second hand sports saloon ( M4 or similar) spend the leftover 35k on loose women and die happy.....and the end result is £81,495....I meant to add: Matt Windle was sounding very nervous about the £60k price tag - expect a revision very soon!
