Looking at these replies regarding camber etc. I was wondering if this makes the job of changing the standard suspension to RSX kit any easier? is it a DIY job?

pretty much.....all you need if a set of tools and an understanding of which spax for which angle of the car....only 2 bolts to undo....
the "harder" part is to set the proper height of the car, where a car-lifter comes handy since many adj. are needed...

A useful trick I learnt in my time problem solving at Land rover is to take a piece of very long elastic, tie it round one of the tyre valves, then walk all round the car with the elastic, and hook it together at the end. Once you've done this, align the elastic with the centre of each wheel, and you can visibly see the toe in / out on all the wheels.

yep, I've heard of that trick before, only thing is...being the speedy quite "shapey", is it ok to wrap the elastic around the front-rear fascias and still get a good reading? Imnotworthy

Yup, the important thing is to get the elastic to run true across the face of the tyres, and if this doesnt work, drop the elastic so it runs under the body, but is level in height all round the car.

interestingly, lotus only has one shim?!? ...otoh, speedy has FOUR shims at the front, and FIVE at the rear, so plenty to play with... :P (...and plenty to fcuk-up the thread-wear... )

Well thanks to both Ricky2772 and Rockstar. I checked this morning under the car and it was exactly as portrayed in the diagram. :D I was best pleased, and ultimately relieved. My specialist ate a good deal of humble pie, however, to be fair to him this is not your average way of setting camber on a motor vehicle. To be honest he had a quick look, which on hindsight he regrets :( I will let the Vauxhall VX specialist..... err... know as well Anyway power to the forum and the wonderful people who respond to these types of queries. Err...roll over the pies. And also the :drink: cheers
