If throttle response is slower, then H&T has to be slower. In my NA car I can just drop my little toe onto the throttle to match the revs whilst braking. If I had to hold the throttle down for a while each time I'd have to spend more time between each gear, so the whole process would take longer totally regardless of driver skill (of which I claim to have none!)

Not tried this on the VX - but on some modern engines the fuel is cut off to the engine when the brake pedal is pressed. (safety feature or something) Tried this on my week day vauxhall. If you brake and blip the gas, the engine will not rev. Any one else found this? <_<

More likely an economy feature.
