what comeback or recourse do you have with garages who mod your car, claiming for instance 180 brake etc with stage one this and new zorst that and yet when you get it dyno,d elsewhere, as some of you may do at the rolling road shootout coming your way soon it only gives you 160 brake. :( do you cry into your beer or is there a legal claim to it? food for thought as some people are questioning how good the "stage one" remap is at r***l sorry to ask the question but there are some BIG hp gain claims out there....

Its a good point and every tuner will give you the same old run around about diff RR's giving diff outputs etc etc. Personally I always consider that the actual bhp gain is not the significant outcome - its the map itself but its a valid concept if you bought xyz chip cos it said you'd get x% gains.

I had the swiss company Digitaltuning chipping my speedy for a claimed +14hp... dyno and chrono said NO GAIN WHATSOEVER even after a second "attempt"..... response of the con-man: ...well....we put already lotsa time in it, OUR instruments show "a gain"..... :9mm: point is, if it was Italy, I would have gone after my 450 euros with lawsuits and all....being outside EU..... :( ...I kept it as a costly course on "how to get ripped off, learn from it and not do it again" so, keep that name in mind: Digitaltuning. they might squeeze some extra hp from the turboed VW/audi , but they lie to you all the way from the start about anything you ask'em....and refuse to let you see the actual modding procedure!

I am in a similar situation. I have just had a stage 1 done by regal last week. It claims to add at least 10bhp and increases rev limiter to 6800 in 1st and 2nd gears Since I had i done i have noticed no difference whatsoever and my rev limiter is still the same. This could be due to a number of reasons however good companies like regal do offer your money back if you are not satisfied. Mani

I would not remotely put regal and digitaltuning on the same level....
I'm sure that they will refund your dough anytime if not happy, and they can recoup the loss selling Minime's organs....  :groupjump:

so many things influence a rolling road day....the weather for instance does make a difference for the vx to perform at its best it does need lots of cold air feeding it.....when regal was testing my car they did it over several days in different conditions......the 186bhp/175lbft was achieved when my car was cold along with the air temp.....when the car was tested after it had been running for a while and the air temp was warm my car only achieved 177bhp/168lft....for me rolling roads are a guide driving the car is when you do feel the differences...... this why my car is going to itg filters this week...i feel that my car could do with some extra air as whilst the dbilas induction manifold is working well with the k &n induction i just feel it could do better! my car will be tested by itg both before and after so i should have some more feed back then... chris at regal has always asked about how the car feels performs after every stage of mods... for him its more important how the car behaves than what the fiqures shows......this is why he is concerned about manis problems......so can i ask all of you that have had the regal software can you pm about how the car felt before and after the upgrades thanks steve cheers :grouphug:
