How do you actually get the airbox out ? I have removed the wheel arch liner and the Turbo ear as people like to call them. I've then undone the four clips that hold the two parts of the box together. Do then have to remove the large pipe on the engine side of the airbox ? or is there an easier way. I've done a search but couldn't find a detailed guide.

Yep, undo the big intake pipe that runs from the top of the airbox towards the engine. Then undo the two nuts at the bottom of the airbox that hold it in place on those metal mounting brackets (one on the wheel side and one on the engine side). The whole thing should then drop down a few inches. I find it's easier to unclip the top half from the bottom half and take it out a part at a time as I don't think the whole thing will fit out in one go. And I also find it easier to get both halves out through the wheel arch rather than from the engine bay. It is a pain in the arse though and requires a fait bit of wiggling it about and swearing. edit: just realised you've got a turbo. I've not seen the turbo airbox but I'm guessing it's pretty much the same. Not sure why you'd have to remove the turbo 'ear' though..

no they arent the same, its higher up and at a differnt angle iirc - removing the ear is probably easier than the wheel arch liner? I'm going to do the timbo airbox mod soon thumbsup

I removed it through the wheel arch on my VXT, as said before it is easier if you unclip it & remove the two halves separately.

Mines been on and off more times than i care to mention, no need to move the "turbo ear" just straight out through the wheel arch and there is only one bolt holding it on which if you look from the top of it in the engine bay, is basically between it and the passenger compartment. (bit of a bitch to do back up though :beat: ). Timbo
